TELOS files
A TELOS file that never goes stale.
A TELOS file is an open format for deep personal context — the problems you care about, your mission, goals, history, and hard-won wisdom — written so any AI can actually understand you. Most people write one once and let it rot. Mimesis compiles yours live from memories you own, so it stays current as your life moves.
Three ways in
Import it, build it, or let your assistant interview you.
Already have one? Import it.
Upload your TELOS.md and every entry — P1, M1, G2 — becomes a memory with full provenance. Your original file is preserved byte-for-byte, fingerprinted with SHA-256, before anything is parsed. Re-import an updated file and entries update in place instead of duplicating.
Starting fresh? Guided builder.
A section-by-section wizard in the app asks one question at a time — what problem bothers you enough to work on, your mission in a sentence, a measurable goal. Answers become TELOS entries immediately, with a live preview as it grows.
Agent-first? It interviews you.
Connect Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client and it can walk you through the same questions in conversation — mimesis_interview_next with kind="telos". Agent-relayed answers land in your review queue first; nothing becomes durable without you.
Why compile instead of write
Memories are the source of truth. The file is a view.
Every TELOS entry is a normal Mimesis memory — it participates in retrieval, carries provenance, and can be edited, superseded, or soft-deleted like anything else you keep. The TELOS.md is regenerated on demand in a canonical format, so it reflects what's true now, not what you wrote last winter.
Export anywhere
Download TELOS.md from the app, pull it over the authenticated API (GET /telos?format=md), or let any connected agent fetch it at session start with the mimesis_telos MCP tool.
Sensitive sections stay yours
Traumas, journal entries, predictions, and favorites are private by default — never shown to connected agents, never in the compiled file unless you explicitly include them. Only you ever see them.
Stable IDs, honest history
Entries keep stable IDs (P1, G4) across edits and re-imports, deleted entries never silently come back, and every entry traces to its source. Your TELOS has an audit trail.
One honest caveat: import restructures your file into the Mimesis canonical TELOS format on the way out. The bytes you uploaded are always preserved and exportable, but the compiled view is generated — that's what keeps it alive.
Ten minutes to a TELOS your AI can actually use.
Answer the core questions — problems, mission, goals — and every assistant you connect starts each session knowing what you're building and why.
